Barra Apartment
"Paulo Martins Arquitectura e Design tem o prazer de anunciar “Barra Apartment”, situado num edifício de quatro andares, voltado para a Praia da Barra, este projeto reinterpreta a residência original, transformando-a num refúgio contemporâneo profundamente enraizado na paisagem costeira.
O design de interiores foi concebido para evocar serenidade e funcionalidade, onde a pureza das linhas minimalistas se encontra com a riqueza sensorial dos materiais naturais. Tons suaves de bege (inspirados na cor e textura da areia) revestem pavimentos e paredes em carvalho, enquanto os tetos claros amplificam a luz natural e reforçam a sensação de abertura. O volume que integra as instalações sanitárias surge revestido em espelho cinza, afirmando-se como um elemento escultórico que, através do reflexo, difunde os limites espaciais e amplia a perceção, conferindo leveza e continuidade ao ambiente.
A área social principal desenvolve-se num espaço aberto e fluido, onde sala de estar, sala de jantar e cozinha se articulam de forma harmoniosa, com uma lavandaria discretamente integrada no conjunto. Esta configuração privilegia a flexibilidade e a coerência espacial, criando um cenário simultaneamente elegante e acolhedor para o quotidiano.
O quarto assume-se como um refúgio tranquilo e independente, com casa de banho privativa e um roupeiro generoso, oferecendo conforto e privacidade num ambiente de equilíbrio e harmonia.
A intervenção estabelece um diálogo subtil entre simplicidade e sofisticação, funcionalidade e emoção, dando forma a uma experiência habitacional profundamente ligada ao contexto e em permanente relação com a beleza natural da paisagem costeira envolvente.
'Com o projecto Barra Apartment, a nossa visão foi traduzir a beleza tranquila e intemporal da praia num espaço habitável e emocional”, explica Paulo Martins. “Criámos uma casa que faz parte da sua envolvente e, simultaneamente, constitui um refúgio do mundo exterior. Para clientes com vidas tão exigentes, o principal objetivo era criar um santuário onde pudessem realmente descansar e reencontrar o equilíbrio. Este projeto é uma celebração do design ponderado, que utiliza materiais honestos para criar uma experiência de vida serena, harmoniosa e verdadeiramente feita à medida' "

"Paulo Martins Arquitectura e Design is proud to announce “Barra Apartment ”, located in a classic four-storey building facing Praia da Barra, this project reinterprets the original residence, transforming it into a contemporary retreat deeply anchored in the coastal landscape.
The interior design was conceived to evoke serenity and functionality, where the purity of minimalist lines meets the sensory richness of natural materials. Soft beige tones (inspired by the colour and texture of sand) envelop oak floors and walls, while pale ceilings amplify natural light and heighten the sense of openness. The volume housing the sanitary facilities is clad in grey mirror, emerging as a sculptural element that, through reflection, diffuses spatial boundaries and extends perception, bringing lightness and continuity to the space.
The principal living area unfolds as an open, fluid composition, seamlessly linking the living, dining, and kitchen spaces, with a laundry area discreetly integrated into the layout. This configuration favours flexibility and spatial coherence, shaping an environment that feels both elegant and inviting, a refined setting for everyday life.
The bedroom assumes the role of a tranquil and self-contained sanctuary, complete with an en-suite bathroom and generous wardrobe, offering comfort and privacy within an atmosphere of balance and harmony.
The intervention establishes a subtle dialogue between simplicity and sophistication, functionality and emotion, crafting a domestic experience deeply connected to its context and in constant dialogue with the natural beauty of the surrounding coastal landscape.
'With the Barra Apartment residence, our vision was to translate the tranquil and timeless beauty of the beach into a livable, emotional space,” said Paulo Martins. “We crafted a home that feels both a part of its surroundings and a quiet escape from the outside world. For clients with such demanding lives, the primary goal was to create a sanctuary where they could truly rest and find harmony. This project is a celebration of thoughtful design that uses honest materials to create a calm, harmonious, and truly bespoke living experience.' "
