"O projeto nasce de uma leitura cuidada da topografia do terreno e da malha envolvente. O lote é delimitado por duas ruas com uma diferença de cota de cerca de três pisos entre o ponto mais alto e o mais baixo. Em vez de encarar esta pendente como um obstáculo, o edifício transforma-a no elemento central da sua expressão arquitetónica. A base alarga-se e funde-se com o terreno, reduzindo movimentos de terra e ancorando o conjunto à paisagem. A partir desse embasamento, o volume desenvolve-se em terraços ascendentes que se dissolvem, no topo, num perfil retangular mais regular, em linha com as orientações municipais e a escala dos edifícios vizinhos. O resultado é uma presença urbana que, ao mesmo tempo, se integra e se distingue. A volumetria desconstruída em diversos terraços potencia várias vantagens. Para além de maximizar a área útil face à solução retangular inicialmente prevista, garante apartamentos com maior exposição solar, ventilação natural e vistas desafogadas. Os espaços exteriores ganham protagonismo, visto que nos pisos inferiores surgem varandas amplas e próximas do solo; e nos pisos superiores, varandas mais contidas criam uma hierarquia equilibrada ao longo do edifício, ao redistribuir valor e qualidade habitacional por todo o conjunto, em vez de concentrar a exclusividade apenas no topo. Esta estratégia gera também uma paisagem vertical, onde a vegetação sobe desde o nível da rua até aos pisos mais altos. O verde traz harmonia à fachada, prolonga a natureza pela extensão do edifício e promove uma relação subtil entre vizinhos, através das varandas sobrepostas. No interior, os apartamentos distinguem-se pela sua amplitude e pelo conforto térmico, acústico e visual. A luz natural é protagonista em todas as divisões, reforçada por uma cuidadosa orientação e pela ventilação cruzada. A seleção de materiais privilegia qualidade e durabilidade, com acabamentos cuidados e detalhes que acrescentam caráter, como os halls de entrada revestidos a madeira, que conferem calor e caráter ao espaço comum. Em síntese, o projeto transforma a complexidade do terreno numa oportunidade para criar habitações eficientes, luminosas e dotadas de espaços exteriores generosos, conciliando sustentabilidade, qualidade de vida e integração urbana. "The project emerges from a close reading of the site’s topography and the surrounding urban fabric. The two defining streets that surround the plot have a difference of three floors between the higher and lower points. Rather than treating the slope as a limitation, the building integrates it as a defining feature. Its base expands to merge with the terrain, minimising excavation and anchoring the project into the landscape. From there, the volume terraces upwards, eventually resolving into a clean rectangular profile in line with city guidelines and neighbouring buildings. This approach ensures both contextual continuity and a distinctive architectural identity. The terraced form serves multiple purposes. Compared to the predicted rectangular box, it maximises saleable area while potentiating apartments with generous daylight, natural ventilation, and expansive views. Outdoor spaces become a defining element: larger terraces at the lower levels connect strongly with the ground, while slimmer balconies higher up establish a balanced hierarchy, redistributing value across the building instead of concentrating it at the top. This stepped configuration also generates a vertical landscape. Greenery climbs from street level to the higher floors, softening the façade and extending nature into every apartment. The overlapping balconies allow subtle visual connections between dwellings, creating opportunities for neighbourly interaction, a sense of collective identity, community feeling and engagement. Inside, the apartments are designed to be spacious, within the current downsizing market needs, with abundant natural light and high thermal, acoustic, and visual comfort standards. Careful material selection enhances this quality, with refined finishes and warm details such as timber entrance halls that lend character and warmth to the shared areas. The project transforms the site's complexity into an opportunity to create efficient, bright homes with generous outdoor spaces, combining sustainability, quality of life, and urban integration.
