THE ARCHITECTS in Aveiro.

Hiring an architect in Aveiro for your project is an important decision, as they will be responsible for turning your ideas into reality. But how do you choose the right architect?

1. Is it worth hiring an architect?

Yes, and not just for the floor plan. A good architect doesn’t draw walls, they shape how you’ll actually live in the home: where the morning light comes in, how the rooms talk to each other, what you do there day to day. They fix ways of living you didn’t even know could be better, and add real value to your investment, both now and the day you decide to sell. How much does it cost? In Portugal there’s no fixed table, but an architecture project runs between 3% and 12% of the construction cost. It’s money that almost always pays for itself, in fewer mistakes on site and a home that’s worth more and lived in better.

2. Where to Find Architects in Aveiro?

Start by doing a detailed search to identify architects in the Aveiro region. Ask friends, family, and co-workers for recommendations. Also, explore online directories such as Espaço de Arquitetura, our section of architects or the website of the Portuguese Order of Architects to find qualified professionals.

3. Architects’ Portfolio and Experience Assessment.

After identifying a few architects, evaluate the work. See if they have experience on projects similar to yours. Review images of past projects to get an idea of the style and quality of their work.

4. Scheduling Meetings and Choosing the Ideal Architect.

Schedule meetings with the architects that most interest you. It is critical to choose an architect with whom you feel comfortable working, as collaboration will be required throughout the process and over a long period of time.

Discuss the budget with the architects during the kick-off meeting. Make sure they understand your financial constraints. Make sure they have experience with projects that fit your budget. Keep in mind that the value of an architect’s work can vary based on the size and complexity of the project.
