PROJECT DESCRIPTION
" Bradco II — The Shape of Precision
Rising in the industrial zone of Felgueiras, in the municipality of Castelo de Paiva, Bradco was founded as a symbol of rigour and excellence in the art of leather craftsmanship. Today, its growth — of hands, ideas and machines — has called for a new architectural gesture: the expansion of its industrial unit, Bradco II, a building that extends the soul of the company and asserts its future.
Bradco II was born not only from the need for space, but from the desire to express, through architecture, the precision and elegance that define the brand. Designed to accommodate more than four hundred employees, the new facility was conceived as a living organism, where production and creation coexist in harmony.
More than a physical extension, it is a statement of continuity — a building that breathes the same spirit as the original Bradco.
Its inspiration emerges from the surrounding landscape. The local stone, firm and sober, grounds the building to its land. Glass, stretched across wide façades, opens the interior to the landscape of Castelo de Paiva, allowing light to dialogue with the rhythm of production. Between these materials, the metal of the structural canopy forms a link between tradition and modernity — a symbolic bridge connecting the two units and reflecting the transparency of the processes that take place within.
Inside, the architecture unfolds with rational clarity. The central zone is devoted to production — the heart of the building — while the lateral wings contain offices, technical areas and support spaces. The entrance, defined by a portico and a generous, light-filled hall, welcomes clients and visitors with the same elegance with which Bradco’s creations are presented to the world.
Support areas for employees are located on the lower floor, where changing rooms and the cafeteria have been designed with the same care devoted to the production spaces. Outside, a broad promenade serves as a social space, punctuated by vegetation and sculptural elements that invite pause — a gesture of softness within the industrial context.”Written by the architecture studio "
