"Casa A
O terreno de Barros não se entrega facilmente. É uma partitura de inclinações, um mapa irregular que desafia a gravidade. A nascente, a força do muro de pedra eleva o olhar; a poente, as ruas desenham o limite. Um vazio urbano que clamava por preenchimento, uma tela em branco à espera de um gesto.
A resposta foi um sussurro à terra, não um grito. Em vez de dominar o declive, optámos por o ouvir e acompanhar. A arquitetura nasceu da modelação, da ideia de criar socalcos e patamares, como degraus que nos levam do caos à ordem.
Assim, o edifício é um organismo que respira com o terreno. Dois planos horizontais, simples na sua pureza, pousam desfasados, abraçando a encosta. Não há rigidez, há movimento. A casa abre-se em direção a Sul e Poente, como uma planta que procura o sol. As vistas desafogadas são a recompensa, quadros vivos da paisagem que entram pelas janelas.
A materialidade é discreta, um regresso ao elementar. As coberturas são um mimetismo consciente, um disfarce que funde a construção com o que a rodeia. Os muros de suporte, alinham-se com a rua, costurando a malha urbana com delicadeza.
Da Rua de Barros, o acesso. A rampa que vence os seis metros de desnível é a transição, a passagem do mundo exterior para o refúgio privado, promovendo no interior outros olhares.
Esta não é apenas mais uma casa, é um abrigo que encontra o seu equilíbrio na inclinação e no horizonte. É a materialização de uma ideia onde a contenção se encontra com a poesia do lugar, transformando um declive acentuado numa harmonia habitável, um lugar onde o espaço exterior, valorizado e hierarquizado, convida ao repouso junto à água da piscina, sob o céu de Braga. "

The Barros plot of land does not yield easily. It is a score of inclinations, an irregular map that defies gravity. To the east, the strength of the stone wall raises the gaze; to the west, the streets draw the boundary. An urban void that clamored for infill, a blank canvas awaiting a gesture.
The response was a whisper to the earth, not a shout. Instead of mastering the slope, we chose to listen to it and accompany it. The architecture was born from the modeling, from the idea of creating terraces and plateaus, like steps that lead us from chaos to order.
Thus, the building is an organism that breathes with the ground. Two horizontal planes, simple in their purity, rest staggered, embracing the hillside. There is no rigidity, there is movement. The house opens up towards the South and West, like a plant seeking the sun. The unobstructed views are the reward, living paintings of the landscape that enter through the windows.
The materiality is discreet, a return to the basics. The roofs are a conscious mimicry, a disguise that merges the construction with its surroundings. The retaining walls align with the street, stitching the urban fabric with delicacy.
From Rua de Barros, the access. The ramp that overcomes the six-meter slope is the transition, the passage from the external world to the private refuge, promoting other perspectives within.
This is not just another house; it is a shelter that finds its balance in the inclination and the horizon. It is the materialization of an idea where containment meets the poetry of the place, transforming a steep slope into a habitable harmony, a place where the exterior space, valued and hierarchized, invites rest by the pool water, under the sky of Braga. "
