DESCRIÇÃO DO PROJETO / PROJECT DESCRIPTION
"O local deste projecto, o condomínio The Garden em Matosinhos com características únicas em Portugal e um parque verde privado com cerca de 3 hectares, constituiu-se num eixo preponderante para o trabalho conceptual da Visioarq; além disso foi necessário responder a uma implantação e volumetria fortemente condicionadas pelo loteamento já existente.
O maior desafio do Edifício Natura foi equilibrar o impossível: abrir amplos espaços para o exterior, enquanto se procuravam formas de articulação das tipologias de modo a conferir-lhe a maior privacidade possível. A Visioarq desenhou um edifício que “vivesse” ao máximo dos espaços exteriores e da envolvente, um edifício transparente assente na simplicidade da forma, onde a reflexão do espaço natural e a luz interior assumissem um elemento fulcral na proposta, que se apresenta contemporânea como é costume nos trabalhos do gabinete.
A relação do edifício com o parque verde assume-se neste projecto como a premissa mais importante da proposta; para tal contribuem os grandes envidraçados do edifício que permitem que os espaços interiores se transformem em “terraços cobertos abertos para a paisagem” não ficando limitados às áreas de varandas onde, no entanto, também existiu a preocupação com a funcionalidade das mesmas, optando-se por varandas recuadas com profundidades que permitam o seu usufruto sem constrangimentos. Ao optarmos por dotar de praticamente todos os apartamentos dos pisos térreos com logradouros, procurámos que o verde do parque entrasse dentro do lote o mais possível, tornando o mesmo parte integrante da estrutura verde existente.
Para um público-alvo caracterizado por famílias de maior ou menor dimensão que privilegiam e valorizam a vivência dos espaços exteriores, as tipologias destes apartamentos - deste o T1 ao T4 – apresentam espaços exteriores privados que permitem um usufruto e um estilo de vida saudável cada vez mais importante e valorizado na nossa sociedade.
Ao nível dos acabamentos, a simplicidade e o conforto foram o fio condutor desta proposta.
A utilização da madeira natural nos pavimentos interiores de quartos, salas e circulações, conjugada com a valorização da luz natural no interior e a utilização de carpintarias lacadas de branco, conferem um conforto e luminosidade interior de realçar.
No exterior são utilizados essencialmente 3 materiais: mármore branco, vidro e reboco branco. Mais uma vez pretende-se que a simplicidade e a leveza do edifício não “compitam” com o espaço natural envolvente, elemento central do condomínio The Garden."

"The location of this project — The Garden condominium in Matosinhos, featuring unique characteristics in Portugal and a private green park of around three hectares — was a key element in Visioarq’s conceptual approach. Additionally, the design had to respond to the site layout and building volume, which were strongly conditioned by the existing subdivision.
The greatest challenge for the Natura Building was to balance the impossible: opening large spaces to the outside while ensuring that the apartment layouts offered maximum privacy.
Visioarq designed a building that would “live” as much as possible from its outdoor spaces and surroundings — a transparent building based on the simplicity of form, where the reflection of the natural environment and interior light play a central role in the proposal, which, as usual in the studio’s work, presents itself with a contemporary identity.
In this project, the relationship between the building and the green park stands out as the most important premise of the proposal. This is achieved through the large glazed surfaces that transform the interior spaces into “covered terraces open to the landscape,” not limited to the balcony areas. Even there, particular attention was paid to functionality, opting for recessed balconies with generous depths that allow comfortable use. By providing almost all the ground-floor apartments with private gardens, the intention was to bring the greenery of the park into the site as much as possible, making it an integral part of the existing green structure.
Aimed at a target audience of families of various sizes who value and prioritize outdoor living, the apartment layouts — ranging from one to four bedrooms — offer private outdoor spaces that encourage a lifestyle focused on well-being, increasingly valued in today’s society.
In terms of finishes, simplicity and comfort guided the entire proposal.
The use of natural wood flooring in bedrooms, living areas, and circulation spaces, combined with the emphasis on natural light and white lacquered carpentry, brings warmth and brightness to the interiors. Externally, three main materials are used: white marble, glass, and white plaster. Once again, the intention was for the simplicity and lightness of the building to avoid “competing” with the surrounding natural landscape — the central element of The Garden condominium."
