Corten House II

photography by Ivo Tavares

Lighting at Corten House, Project by HPA, 2025
A complex and elegant play of depth where lighting design meets industrial texture. The warm, precise glow of the suspended luminaires sublimely contrasts with the cool dusk reflections on the glass and the intricate perforated Corten steel mesh.

About this photograph

The boundary between interior and exterior dissolves into a hypnotic web of reflections, light, and materiality. Photographed in 2025 at Casa Corten — a project by HPA atelier — this image focuses on the sophisticated details that compose the environment, revealing how the building's metallic "skin" dialogues with the interior design.

The focal point rests on the minimalist elegance of the cone-shaped suspended lamps. Their warm, directed beam of light creates small oases of visual comfort, which directly contrast with the cool blue tones of dusk reflected in the large glass panels. This interplay of color temperatures imbues the image with a deeply intimate and cinematic atmosphere.

As a backdrop, the project's architectural signature asserts itself: the perforated Corten steel mesh. This lacy screen, slightly blurred by the depth of field, creates an optical illusion and a rigorous geometric pattern that embraces the entire composition. It is an incredibly rich work of visual layers, perfect for bringing a touch of mystery, contemporary luxury, and color to any wall.
