“A MIMOSA HOUSE é uma moradia unifamiliar localizada na freguesia de Esmoriz, cidade de Ovar, Portugal — um território onde o mar, a floresta e a luz natural moldam uma identidade paisagística própria. O projeto nasce da junção de dois lotes, com uma área total de 998 m², tendo uma implantação de 440 m² e área de construção de 457 m². Inserida neste contexto de forte presença natural, a casa adota uma linguagem arquitetónica racionalista e contida, onde a matéria e a luz são os principais protagonistas. Desenvolve-se de forma horizontal, sobre a totalidade do lote, numa volumetria simples que parece flutuar sobre o solo, uma relação desmaterializada e subtil com o terreno. Este gesto subtil permite o uso diferenciado do espaço exterior, reforçando a transparência transversal do pátio central, onde a piscina se apresenta como elemento cénico e atmosférico: espelha o céu, filtra a luz e gera um microclima de conforto e introspeção. A cobertura ajardinada prolonga o solo natural sobre a arquitetura, reforçando a narrativa da casa e o compromisso com a sustentabilidade e o equilíbrio ambiental. A escolha de materiais — betão aparente, aço corten, madeira natural e vidro — traduz uma intenção clara: respeitar a verdade construtiva, valorizar a textura e promover a durabilidade, ao mesmo tempo que confere uma dimensão total e global à obra. Estes materiais não apenas definem a estética do edifício, como também estabelecem um diálogo honesto com o lugar. Mais do que um objeto construído, a MIMOSA HOUSE representa uma experiência sensorial e emocional. A arquitetura revela-se aqui como uma presença silenciosa, transformadora e duradoura — capaz de qualificar o território e de propor uma nova forma de habitar o mundo. “MIMOSA HOUSE is a single-family residence located in the parish of Esmoriz, in the city of Ovar, Portugal — a territory where the sea, the forest, and natural light shape a distinctive and deeply rooted landscape identity. The project originates from the merging of two plots, with a total area of 998 m², a building footprint of 440 m², and a total construction area of 457 m².Set within this context of strong natural presence, the house adopts a rationalist and restrained architectural language, where material and light take center stage. It unfolds horizontally across the entire plot, in a simple volumetry that appears to float above the ground — a dematerialized and subtle relationship with the terrain. This delicate gesture allows for a differentiated use of the outdoor space, enhancing the cross transparency of the central courtyard, where the pool stands as a scenic and atmospheric element: it mirrors the sky, filters light, and generates a microclimate of comfort and introspection. The green roof extends the natural ground over the architecture, reinforcing the house’s narrative and its commitment to sustainability and environmental balance.The choice of materials — exposed concrete, corten steel, natural wood, and glass — expresses a clear intention: to respect constructive truth, emphasize texture, and promote durability, while giving the work a comprehensive and cohesive identity. These materials not only define the building’s aesthetic but also establish an honest dialogue with the site.More than a built object, MIMOSA HOUSE represents a sensory and emotional experience.
